No, just in the sense that the skit died. They haven't run any on SNL that I've seen in a awhile but I don't get to watch it as much anymore.
It was probably the best thing on SNL at that time, just about the only thing that would make me lol

In almost new, fully working condition? If so, I'll take one.
A vt bass will never bring the mojo of an svt plus 810 setup. I thought about buying one, but I would rather put that $150 twards a tube amp.
I've done enough with both to say for sure that it won't sound better, but as good through a PA as the real thing is a definite as far as I'm concerned.
3. You look way cooler standing in front of an SVT or B-15 than you do with a VT pedal into a micro rig.
Absolutely not! I have an image to maintain! Can I quote you on that?
Shucks, I may be the only one on TB, but I had and sold a Sans Amp DI and same with a VT pedal. To me, they seemed to just cloud up my signal and where just another thing to take care of. Great for going direct into a board, but not into an amp. My experience.
+1 Kind of like riding a motorcycle. Sure, there are plenty of nice bikes out, but there's nothing quite like riding a Harley!
Isn't it totally weird how an 810 looks cool on stage, but a micro-rig looks really cool on the way back to your car at 2 AM?So after reading this thread, I've come to a couple conclusions:
1. Jack Handey was alternately hilarious or stupid.
2. Everyone's already spoiled by the gear we have now and have all too quickly forgotten that it wasn't always this way.
3. You look way cooler standing in front of an SVT or B-15 than you do with a VT pedal into a micro rig.
Now sitting in the middle of the dining room is my 79 Shovelhead engine fresh out of LEO HESS's shop.
I think they are awesome if you can bypass the entire preamp of your amp. I agree that they muddy things up when adding another thing to the chain. That is why I am looking for a simple power amp to run mine into. I want it to be my preamp and not be a preamp on top of another preamp. I like Simple. Are you listening Tech21? I don't think you are since you never returned or commented on my emails. :scowl:
