DeLano Pickups?

I have found a few threads on here regarding them and they seem to give big thumbs up regarding them. I only mention the other posts as I've been combing for the same info as well and not for snarky "do a search" purposes.:p

Here is a review on them here on TB

I'm buying a pair later this month when the funds hit my wallet.
I want to get those big pole Jazz pickups.:bassist: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=376086
Here is a review on them here on TB

Will post about my experience as soon as I spend a week with them installed.

hello

i use the jc4 he/m2 in the jag and i`m very satisfied with the delanos and i`m very picky - in the jag they sound like vintage (fenderish) goes modern but in a good way at least for me - and - you must always try the pickups (does not matter which brand or type) in your bass and play with them, otherwise you don`t know how they are for you

but at the end of the day - and there are many good brands of pickups out - in my opinion the delanos are one of the best you can get :)

I wish there was a place that had sound clips of all the P pups side by side. kind of strange to me that this is not done more - even by manufacturers. the pup is such a huge part of the tone and relatively complicated change to make (not like swapping a pedal on your board).

I took a chance w/ 1/4 lb's on my jazz V and lucked out - but if I didnt like them it would have really sucked!

the delano's look nice. i'm gassing for a warmoth P and seriously considering them. . .

I put a passive Delano in my 73 P since the original pickup had D and G strings that were softer than the rest. I'm completely satisfied.

The only soundclip I can give you is track 4 at http://maskedsuperstar.bandcamp.com. You can definitely hear the very-slightly-compressed bass when it comes in. Bass recorded direct, Labella Deep Talkin' strings.

I know I'm digging up an old thread but I just can't get past this comment.

Replaced a pickup on a vintage P because the two higher strings were softer than the two lower? Ever heard of a screwdriver? Please tell me there was a wiring issue or something.:eyebrow:

They are simply incredible...

I have both:
JMVC 4 FE/M2
JC 4 HE/M2

their precised, clear, deep but still round and warm...

I'm using nordstrand for vintage tone but for everything else it's delano.

I'm selling my JC 4 HE/M2 to get the money for my coming set of Xtender pickups... If i wasn't that curious about the xtender i would definitely keep them

I've post a review in the TB review section
