Delano's worth the wait?

So I finally decided to go with Delano's on my first build. The choice was Delano JMVC or Bartolini 9J#1. After long consideration, I decided to go with Delano's. However once I ordered them I realized the company is out of stock, and I can't find them anywhere else (I DON'T want to order them from Delano)

Should I wait, or just get the Bartolini's? Everything else will be ready for my build next week. I'm getting anxious! :ninja:

i have the delano music man pickup. i used it for a recent fretless build and could't be happier with it. i run the pickup passive.

So you would definitely recommend Norstrands over Bartolinis? To be honest, I'm completely new when it comes to pickups. I know I've played some Foderas, some Pedullas, and they've had Bartolini's in them. I liked what I heard, but I'm not sure if its all the pickups. Just from watching videos, I've narrowed it down to two. But if Norstrands are just as good if not better, than I might have some MORE researching to do.

I like the Delanos I have in my 5er. I forget the model but they're probably humcancelling single coils. Very clean and even with plenty of volume in active or passive. Good luck. There are a lot of good choices out there.

I like Nordstrands better, but thats my taste. i think bartolinis are too"boomy". you played foderas and pedullas with bartolinis, im sure you liked the sound, but thats the sound of the bass as a whole, including the preamp, the strings and the wood on the instruments, you cant expect the same sound on your bass.
just as a background, what kind of music do you play?

Mostly Rock. Indie Rock. But more importantly my ideal sound would probably be Ben Kenney from Incubus. Very bass driven but the highs being heard with a good midrange tone.
