Delano's worth the wait?

I just feel like if I were to talk to him, he'd recommend me a Norstrand. Basically trying to sell his product. Who knows. I'm just ready to get this over with.

What I meant was:

He makes a whole bunch of custom pickups for different bass manufacturers and he knows a lot about pickups in general. If you describe what you want, he'll tell you which Nordstrand pickup will suit you best, or maybe make a custom one to achieve your tone goals.

Mostly Rock. Indie Rock. But more importantly my ideal sound would probably be Ben Kenney from Incubus. Very bass driven but the highs being heard with a good midrange tone.

This doesn't sound like Barts to me. Let the huge lows come from your amp. Big bottom for a Jazz can result from an overwind, which can result in less highs and less articulation.
I'm not aware of a jazz pickup that combines crisp highs, strong mids, and a huge bottom all in one package, you gotta sacrifice somewhere. I've tried at least 15 sets from various manufacturers, Delanos come pretty close. Or maybe you just need a P bass....

I'm getting anxious! :ninja:

? Anybody??

I'm just ready to get this over with.

I really think this boils down to how patient you're willing to be in order to get what you really want...as opposed to just getting something quickly in order to fill the holes. Personally, I'm more interested in how well my instrument will perform for the next 10 years, than I am in the next 10 weeks.

Are the Delanos excellent pickups? You bet they are. I have a set of them in my new Carvin SB5000, and I love 'em. They're absolutely perfect for that instrument, and I would gladly have waited six months to get them, if necessary.

Your call... :hmm:

Back on September 21st of this year, I placed a special order for a 2-conductor version of the Delano JMVC 4 FE/M2 pickup. On October 18th, it arrived at the dealer I ordered it from but he was away at a seminar or something until the 24th, so Tuesday night I completed the transaction and this should be arriving via courier tomorrow...

The regular version of this pickup is single conductor with a shield, so if you wanted to wire pickups like this in series, at least one of them would have to be a 2-conductor version.

The bass this is going in is my Warwick Corvette Standard, which already has Delanos in it, and they sound GREAT, but I want to modify it some more so I can run the pickups in series! :D

Anyway, my point is, it only took a month to get this thing "special" ordered, and sent over from Germany to Canada. There should be lots of regular stock around all ready to go wherever they're sold, so it shouldn't take months to get some of those.

BTW - Here's a close up of the Warwick as it is now.
