Depressing/Tragic movies?

Recently: million dollar baby, and pans labyrinth. the first beautifully painful, the second painfully beautiful.

All time:

Saving Private Ryan

Brazil -I will never watch that film again, and I hear Gilliam's new one makes it look like the Care Bears Movie.

"Of Mice and Men" and "The Grapes of Wrath." The Gary Sinise and John Malkovich version of the former is my first real exposure to both actors and they're excellent. Steinbeck books are gold for depressing movies.

Also see "The Great Gatsby." It's pretty depressing if you've read and analyzed the book by Fitzgerald.

Kidding ya. Did you see Crash? One heck of a good movie.

The Cronenberg movie about people who get off on car crashes? :smug: I still have no idea why someone would name their movie Crash when there was already another movie years before by a famous director.
