As a CroMagnon, that video makes me feel special! Kinda. And obsolete. And really pale. I wonder about the evolution of hair texture as well.
And for the record, I have no inkling how to categorize people.

It is a very interesting topic.It's interesting how siblings with the same parents can sometimes have widely varying skin tones.
AKA "skin cancer susceptible skin". Sigh. Always tradeoffs involved. Amazing that Vitamin D is important enough to be worth the increased risk.They had not yet made the adaptation to better vitamin D absorbing skin.
I built a small dart frog exhibit at work a while back and in doing so, I learned quite a bit about dart frogs and their care, etc. (I also still maintain it).
One of the things I learned is that within a certain species of frog, the Tinctorius in northern S america for example, there can be a wide variety of color variations. Small, isolated pockets of the frogs develop their own distinct coloration and they rarely interact with the next population over. When they do bump into each other at their borders, they recognize their color differences and they will either fight or avoid each other. However, they are genetically all the same frog and can breed. I always thought that was interesting and immediately think of humans.
Another interesting thought is, frogs have an ancient, primitive brain. It really only performs basic functions. Yet, even frogs display tribal behavior.
Not to make excuses for humans, but some behaviors are burned into our animal brain. It may take a little more time to completely transcend it with intellect.

You make a good point, but I want to make clear that I'm not writing a scientific paper on the subject. It was just something that reminded me of something else. No scientific connection.It may be the exact same phenomenon you're observing.
Or, you might be conflating superficially similar phenomena, each with its own explanation, different from the other. There may be an evolutionary reason for different frog populations not to mingle, different from any cause for similar human behaviours. Also, the two may or may not be ingrained at different neurological levels.
What I am saying is that there may be no "evolution" necessary: there is precious little colour-based racism in texts from ancient cultures before the establishment of organised slave trade by the Arabs and the Europeans. It appears to be a culture issue, to be resolved within culture alone.I made a point about how frogs can't help it,.....but humans can. Well,... Humans are about halfway there. We still have some evolving to do. But this stuff takes time.
I find the survival of DNA inherited from Neanderthals and Denisovans (and possibly other unattested offshoots of humanity, partially reabsorbed in the same way) in modern humans comforting. It is nice to think they didn't just disappear into nothingness.One of the most interesting things that DNA studies have shown was that when their were multiple human species, mating between species was quite common. All modern varieties of humans carry DNA from multiple archaic human species.
When you say "our" people, are you referring to a specific ethnic group, or humans in general. Because humans in general tend to have the highest population densities in coastal regions, all over the planet.Our people, those who stem from these coastal cultures,
