DFW get-together anyone??

hey fellas thanks for the welcome,
i just thought that i would take a second and plug skould basses. freakbass is letting me baby sit his new purple heart five stringer, and i really am starting to dig it. :D I do think that these guitars should be made illegal, because the action is just too low. Last night i had a buddy of mine over that plays guitar, and he noticed that the action on the skould was lower than the action on his guitar. I personally am a fan of high action, because i like that tone, and also i have a strong aversion to buzz.

If you would like to hear that guitarist buddy of mine play, or some of the tracks i have recorded, i have some mp3s up on www.kingsofcool.com under the music section.

Hey Daniel,

I agree, I like a higher action too. I have played for years in clubs and studios and I have a very hard attack :bassist:

I can't really play a bass if the action is too low for my style, but other players are always asking for very low action :help:

That is why we use a conical radius, 12 to 18" , it allows very low action with minimal buzzes.

Tell freak he needs to raise the strings , and learn Bernadette!!

First of all, any word that is made up of 1/3 silent letters should be illegal. (sorry pete for leaving out the "J"). Low action on basses is great for tapping. i have really begun to get spoiled in my tapping... I cannot get my action very low at all on my 800$ ibanez. Alas, i never should have gone to the dfw get together! it has made me want things i cannot afford.

You said it, Ty!! Before Bass Player mag and this site, I was content with my Music Man Cutlass 1, my fretless P-bass, my GK 400RB...

Now, I'm GASing for half this hemosphere in bass stuff!! EVIL!!! EVIL!!! :mad:
