Just thought that some sound samples of a DHA VT1 MK3 bass tube-preamp, OD pedal would be of some interest, given the fact that I didnt have the chance to find many of them in the Internet. This one was bought second hand in the classifieds section of this very forum.
Some pics:
It is the medium range unit: more bells and whistles tan the VT1 Standard, and less than an EQ Paradrive section, which also features play-along line in, earphones output, 3 band EQ section with semi-parametric mids and DI output, but the sound is basically the same (I already owned one of the mentioned EQ Paradrive units)
The clip consists of 6 takes of a basic (and sloppily played) groove):

Allparts Fender Jazz bass , alder -rosewood, assembled by myself , Hoegland Brothers passive electronics. (CTS pots, Orange Drop capacitor, Sprague jack socket, cloth wire coating) D'Addario xl170 845-100 strings just boken in. Both pickups fully engaged and passive tone rolled halfway off, Finger played, in between pickups
Directly recorded into an Edirol UA-5 (usb) audio interface, into an HP laptop. No additional EQ, campresson or effect whatsoever

First take is the bass by itself. The DHA unit starts working from take 2 onwards, in a nearly transparent way at first (gain pot at 10, so it can go even cleaner), still you can already start to appreciate some tube warmth. I keep on turning gain up in successive takes until the last one, in which gain is fully cranked. Just using the tube od settings, not the solid state option which it also has.
