DI Boxes with mute switch - What's out there?

Recently I've come across two excellent DI's that have something built in that makes them more than just your average DI.

The first was the Invalid Link Removed. They are the first DI i've seen with a mute switch, very handy for instrument changes, and the new one has the built-in tuner that runs on phantom power. Very handy........ unfortunately unavailable in Australia

Now i've come across the Radial Engineering Headlight Pro, which may be even more handy for my daughters and other muso's that use different instruments with different tonal qualities.

Does anyone out there know of any other DI's with mute switches? Preferably one that is available in Australia.

Radial's bassbone has been on my board for years. Combined with an sfx micro mix OR a Korg Pitch Black plus, I cable 3 basses and have gain and eq balancing. My gigging pair of Lakland 44-01's are of course already balanced so they are the ones I combine. I usually have a Kala UBass on the other channel.

I believe that Radial has a similar product for non-bass instruments. The PZ Pre maybe ?

As a sound guy I would really prefer that each instrument coming ot me is on a dedicated DI... The idea of switching instruments is also the idea that the instruments being switched have identical resonences and gain...

That's why I put the link to all three. For me, being a tight-arse who already has a micro tuner on every instrument, I'd probably go for the MDI...... if it were available or someone wanted to ship it......

I do like the concept of the Headlight Pro although a cheaper version with two outs would suffice for most uses.
Really, a basic DI with mute is just what i'm looking for but so far it appears that there aren't very many options..... and currently zero here in Oz as far as I can see. (I won't stop hassling you Sonic, but I do understand your position)

Sansamp deluxe versions let you dedicate 1 channel to mute.

I use the Boost knob on my Bassbone (set to "loop"), put a (non-connected) guitar plug in the boost input: Boost = mute.

I've had a Boss TU2 tuner in front of my signal chain for almost 20 years for muting. Most of the good dedicated DI boxes aren't stomp boxes with switches. There are a ton of preamp stomp boxes out there with DI and mute switching built in.

I hear ya about the tuner syd.

I used the Sansamp last Friday at a small bar gig. Very limited space so i left the amp in the van and got a sound i wasn't unhappy with but it doesn't have a mute.

I can't say I've seen any preamp stomps with DI and mute. Certainly none that are reasonably priced, or run off phantom power. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.

I don't use effects pedals and don't want to be dealing with batteries or running extra power on stage.
I love the idea of something like the basic Sansamp (runs off phantom) but with a mute. The deluxe that downunder mentioned is $500 here and i wouldn't use most of the features.

Oh well... I'll keep looking.

Maybe that's just me living in the acoustic world where a good number of the quality preamps have all of those features. Must not be so for electric bass.

How about the Sadowsky? I used one for a while a couple of years ago and thought it sounded very good both as a preamp and a DI. Simple but very sensitive tone controls and very well built. My only complaint was it doesn't have the option to go pre EQ out unless you disengage the EQ completely. If that doesn't worry you it might be worth a look.

Yeah, there's plenty of options for acoustic guitar. The funny thing is that my two girls both play Maton's and they sound so good direct that you wouldn't want to go through a preamp that colors your tone.
