DI for active and passive?

Hi Folks,
The input jack on my old Countryman is on the fritz, so I am considering getting a new di, ideally one that would work well with both active and passive p and j style basses. I know the di rule of thumb (active for passive, and vice versa), but I don't want to buy two di's. Suggestions? Oh, and it's really just di's i am interested in. Thanks.

Was there something you didn't like about your Countyman? I'm assuming it was the tried and true Type 85. Hard to go wrong with another one of those or a Radial JDI.
