DI XLR Cable length

I want to get an XLR cable for my pre's DI output, What length do you recommend?

I don't yet know how far the run will be to the mixer board.

Get 20-25 footers, at least two. One will be enough for most cases, the second can be a backup and might save your butt one night if one cord aint quite long enough. No sense buying anything shorter than 20 feet, especially since cables are so cheap.

right on, get 2 20-ish footers so you can always plug em together if ya need to - 50 footers are a drag to roll up and carry around
low impedence signal's really don't suffer from long lenths of cable
and what, no snake? what kinda soundman do you have?
j/k - i have the luxury of using a snake now after years of running cables all over the freakin place
