I like using GHS Pressurewpund strings instead of straight roundwounds.

I have a PBass set up with old - read: needs to be replaced - rounds of the 105 - 45 Ernie Ball roundwound variety.

I have a set of GHS 102 - 44 here.

How much of a difference would it make if I replace them? Would I be able to notice it? Obviously intonation would need a slight tweaking. How would the nut fare? It's a standard MIM player series nut

Not a whole lot of difference either in tension (as in pulling weight) or stiffness/flexibility. The biggest difference you'll notice is the surface texture, the PWs being the smoother of the two.

Yeah that's why I like them. They sounds better to me as well. I got them on my jazz bass and love them. This P is a recent addition and the strings it came with now needs replacing. So I'll go ahead and change them

Good news is that the gauges are so close that you'll probably not notice much of a difference and the nut should be just fine. Tonewise the fresh strings will be better for clarity and should feel nicer on your fingers. Michael T loves pressure wounds and for someone who wants a smoother feel and nice fundimental they will be great. Hope they work as well on your pbass as they do on your jazz. I've actually got a set waiting to get used. I'm liking the worn in strings on this bass a lot otherwise they'd already be on there.
