Differences between '62 and '64 AVRI Jazz?

To me, it seems like they downgraded the AVRI series and then doubled their price for some reason.

I don't like the untinted necks at all, the tinted ones looked great! What the hell made them do that? It's not even closer to the originals that these are reissues of. Untinted maple is boooooo-ring.

pickup and bridge covers coming mounted is silly, now you're forced to have two holes at your bridge whatever you do.

I've heard A/B comparisons and they don't really sound any different to the old AVRIs to me.

If I was buying a jazz I'd look for a used 62 ri.

So, in a nutshell, it looks like Fender made very minor changes to the AVRI '62 to make the AVRI '64...but jacked the price WAY up. I'll remain satisfied with my AVRI '62 then. :)
'64 sounds better IMHO and the new AVRI ll '66 Sounds even better. It's the pups,
AVRI '62 (1982 design)
AVRI '63 (2011 design)
AVRI ll '66 (2022 design)
