Double Bass Different Bow Grips

Hey All,
I'm very much into experimentation, and trying new things to see if they open up different options of tone or play-ability. I'm curious if any of you use any unorthodox bow grips, or know of any resources to look to? I'm a German Bow Player, if that helps.

I bought a carbon fiber German bow and had a hard time getting comfortable with the "standard" grip. Then I found out that the frog is on the "short" end of the spectrum. I then read a few posts by guys here on TB talking about the "Viennese" or "Streicher" grip and how many find it comfortable on a short frog. I have since given it a try and find it much more comfortable with my bow!

I'm not sure why, but I'm finding I don't even have to tilt my bass as much to dig in to the E string!

I might change back to a "German" or "standard" grip when I get a new bow. But, for right now anyway, the Viennese grip is working well for me in terms of both "attack" and finer control.
