Digital Mixers. Now adding NAMM 2015 entries

Looks nice, MUST have more than 16 GB to be listed as "PRO" Probably gonna start at $800 at least!

The horsepower needs to run remote apps is very small and not at all taxing on even a 16gb iPad. I have a 16gb iPad 2 sitting around that I'll send out with a tech that doesn't own an iPad. It works just fine for the remote stuff.

However, I agree, a "Pro" should be at least 64gb standard with a 128 and 256gb option, since I would do a lot more with a Pro version. Man, can you imagine what a 256gb 12" iPad would cost?? My eyes are glazing over thinking about it...

Where Apple and EBS are concerned, I'm REALLY glad my house (humble that it may be) and my truck are paid for!...:D (and with almost 300,000 miles on the truck, I expect to see a truck payment before too long...

if ios doesn't bloat memory wise I see no need for 256 gb in an iPad.

a huge part of the conventional thinking about memory sizing is simply due to windows OS bloat IMO. One reason that OS/X appeals to me is it's unix base and memory allocation scheme.

QUICK QUESTION FOR YALL OUT THERE...

Its 2015... why no USB 3.0 ? Wouldn't that help multitracking significantly? All new computers, external hard drives are moving to 3.0
My guess is it's due to development lag.. meaning design time to delivery... perhaps USB 3.0 wasn't generic enough when these devices were on the drawing board, and upgrading to 3.0 would have had a unit cost/time-to-market impact?

Hey, it's the old UMix! Looks like the whole line with a few changes. The interface appears to be a lightly redone version of the HTML5 interface developed by SM Pro. There are certainly things I like about the Umix, eh, Soundcraft Ui; HTML5 and platform agnosticism, the ability to attach a screen, mouse and keyboard directly to the box without needing a PC. I hope they updated the support for recording so it doesn't require a add on card.

I've noticed the Android devices are now actually starting to list RAM, not just storage.
IK's zero (2.2MS) latency on Android, this could be a game changing year.

Not only could a tablet be a control surface, but it can host effects. Same ones used for recording.

Competition in tablets is a good thing. Except maybe that "Surface" thing :-) Just haven't heard much about it.

ALLEN & HEATH ENTER THE COMPACT DIGITAL MIXER FORMAT !!

Dude... This is it! I can't wait to check this out... BAM

Invalid Link Removed

"Qu-Pac provides a scalable, failsafe solution for hardworking bands, schools, hotels, corporate events, live music bars, conferences, personal mixing and many more scenarios requiring a pro mixing solution in a tiny footprint."

So you have to be a hard-working band to use this mixer, if you are a middlin' working band, it's not for you...;)

Okay, I can't leave alone goofy ad copy, of course written by someone that was handed the specs and knows nothing about audio.

Actually, I'm quite intrigued with this! Looks very cool!

Wish it had multi-channel record. It only records in stereo.
Also only has 4 aux outs, which is not a lot.

& theres supposedly a UI-24... I agree the UI-16 isn't enough

Yeah this thing CAN"T be more than Behringers XR-18 or it wont sell ANY! XR-18 is $699. I REALLY want to know what the QU-PAC costs. Considering the QU-16 is $2000... what are we guessing? $1500? If its $1200 or under I'm getting it... any more than that & you're close to the full mixer anyway

Even if features are comparable the Soundcraft will cost more than Behringer due to (possibly) better components and (definitely) better brand reputation. I guess it's debatable whether Behringer's reputation is justified, but it's still a factor in the market price.

The U 12 is the answer to a question I'm not asking... I wonder who is ? 12x4 is a weird config. Maybe a synth duo doing EDM with in ears ? That one is kind of a head scratcher for me...

To my way of thinking, none of the above are interesting - until I see and work with the software... Hear the converters/ preamps, etc. I'm two digital boards in now, the third I'm taking my time on. I'm kinda hoping some of the new entries will drive down the cost of last years Soundcraft SI boards as their 32 and stage box combo is a bridge too far for me economic's wise - particularly after upgrading the truck... For me, sonically it's still the benchmark. A used one could get my attention.
