Digitech bp355 patch ideas

Here's a patch idea I've recently came up with. this patch duplicates the heavy grind sound of a tech 21 xxl bass edition distortion pedal.

Heavy grind

Fretless/wah: off
Compressor: off
Distortion: 808---75---45---70
Amplifier(amp a): 77mstr---am8x10---70---70
Amplifier(amp b): hiwtag---am8x10---70---70
EQ: scoop---7---1487---(-)2---3---1
Chorus: off
Delay: off
Reverb: off
Expression: volume

Note: Amp a duplicates the xxl sound with the warp control turned down. amp b duplicates the xxl sound with the warp control turned up. you can also use the voodoo lab sparkle drive model(spark) for a more blended sound. this is an excellent patch for hard rock and heavy metal.

Recent up-grade on this patch. I've use the digitech high-gain amp model on amp a, use a warm eq, and use a voodoo lab sparkle drive model on this patch. this results in giving this patch a more improved sound. here's the settings

Fretless/wah: off
Compressor: off
Distortion: spark---70---40---50---75
Amplifier(amp a): diggan---am8x10---30---75
Ampflifer(amp b): hiwtag---am8x10---50---75
EQ: warm---2---1745---3---3---0
Chorus; off
Delay: off
Reverb: off
Expression: amp level

Has anyone had an issue where the G string pretty much disappears unless you pound it when using one of the presets?

I get that with my rig. If I put it in "bypass" the G sounds out loud and clear but then picking any of the sounds, it just disappears so you can't hear it playing normally and you have to pop or pound it to hear it played.

I've really enjoyed all the support for this beast. I love it, however, I've been trying to change the drum sequence and everytime I press drum it starts, but when I go to change the pattern with the Tone Library knob it goes into edit. Anyone experience this?

I did had some trouble with the drum machine when I use to have it. I got a little confused on how to control it. when I tried using it with the patches I created, there were different patches that weren't my own(which is weird). but besides that, I don't use the drum machine that much.

.
This is such a cool (read: USEFUL) topic.
Thanks to everyone involved!

Greg

I knew you would enjoy this thread. this thread is made to help fellow talkbass member who owns a digitech bp355 on what patch to create. they can also share patch ideas on this thread. feel free to check out some awesome patch ideas and if you have a patch idea of your own, feel free to share it.

I´ve created a nice patch, based on a brazilian band called Planet Hemp. You can listen the music Zerovinteum. I´ve uploaded as a picture.

I´m also looking for a patch, to simulate Rockabilly basses, could you help me???

Thanks,

What a great thread! I just got my BP355 in the mail yesterday, and I'm stoked to start messing around with it.

To those on the thread that aren't digging the navigation and controls on the BP355: I plugged mine in via USB and edited some presets with Digitech's X-Edit program. It's super easy, and much more intuitive to me than using the knobs and buttons on the pedal. I'd recommend it for sure.

I'd also like to say that I'm really new to the bass. I don't really have much of an idea of what things like noise gates and compressors are, so I'm looking for a little help. I want to emulate the sound of Kevin Baird, the bassist for Two Door Cinema Club. If anyone on the thread can help me create that sound, or at least point me in the right direction, I'd definitely appreciate it. Here are links to a few of their songs:

Normally for rockabilly, an upright bass is required. but hopefully this patch would probably help.

Tks man...I would try that

Hey nice thread, I have the BP355 too. I was wondering if someone could "create" the tone that Ryan Martinie of Mudvayne has in the first album? It's a very sick and heavy tone! Thanks!

Ryan martini gets his sound from his warwick bass and like many rock and metal bassists, he plays through an ampeg amp. perhaps this patch might help.

Fretless/wah: off
Comp: cscomp---50---40---50
Distortion: off
Amplifier(amp a): 77mstr---ed4x10---45---50
Amplifier(amp b): rcksvt---ed4x10---40---50
EQ: bright---4---1897---4---5---3
Chorus: off

Reverb: off
Expression: volume

Make sure you have a punchy sounding bass in order to work work with this patch.
