I've said this in the Dirty Robot thread, but this Whammy Ricochet seems like a really cool pedal also, like a mix between the Drop and the regular Whammy. It's like a Whammy with a smaller footprint.
Hope it tracks better with bass than the Drop.

I'm going to sell my bass whammy because that's the way I wanted to use it anyway. Instant octave, fake whammy bar, latch or momentary... that's exactly what I was looking for.

I'm rocking the Boss PS-6 and it's awesome!!!! it gives you a few more options but I'll get this new for sure!!
It looks like it may sell in the $149 street price range.

I might have to get this. I've owned a whammy 4 and the newer bass whammy. They are fun pedals but I couldn't get the hang of the expression pedal which is a skill in itself. Seems like the perfect solution for me

Stumbled upon the Ricochet again, after having read about it quite some time ago. As a Whammy-fan, I didn't have to think long about picking it up as I still had some space on my pedalboard.

Used to own a Whammy for my guitar, always had a soft spot for it, but the treadle and size always kinda bugged me, so Digitech having made this is a big win for me.

Haven't had much of a chance to REALLY try it out yet, but from what I've been able to squeeze out so far I am definitely pretty dang content. Tracking is a bit off as my frets need (a lot of) work, but still not at all bad. The buffer adds some highs, but doesn't really diminish my lows as far as I could tell in my 15 minutes of playing, so that's a plus, hehe.

Overall definitely happy to have it, though (even if I might not use it that much with my main projects being thrash- and heavy metal), and I can't wait to really put it through its paces with both bands this Monday and Tuesday.

Any other comments on the tracking and sound? I am mainly interested in 1 octave up. I just feel like I don't want to gig with my 8-string anymore.

I found after a while that the tracking wasn't working as well as I needed on my particular instrument, so I returned it.

It wasn't at all bad, but sometimes it still got a bit too warbly at the start of notes (even in Poly-mode) to be consistently useful for me.

Can you tell which one tracks better? Ps6 or ricochet. My interest is mainly for 1 octave up.

Does the ricochet not have an octave up/ octave down harmonic mode? I like it on my Whammy V, but I really hate the expression pedal. It's too stiff and I can never move my ankle fast enough for fast Matt Bellamy-esque stuff :\

I'd be willing to settle for a piece wise (not smooth but entire half step at a time) -oct to +oct option, or for them to fill out the modes with more intervals.

It can do +/- 1 octave mixed with dry, all the other modes are 100% wet.

It seems to be exactly the same algorithm as the Bass Whammy reissue and Whammy V, but it feels like it has slightly more latency, so perhaps the bigger pedals have better DSPs inside, who knows. If I set them to pure octave up and play something fast, it feels much tighter with the bigger whammies, but there's a slight delay affecting my timing accuracy with the Ricochet. It is a very minor difference however.

Thank you for the quick response. I really only use octave up & down anyway. Is the +/- 1 octave mixed with dry the same as the Whammy V set to +/- 1 octave set on harmonic mode? (sorry, I'm pretty bad at this pedal stuff)

Essentially all I want is to be able to do this without having to depend on the Whammy V's super sticky pedal. That thing kills my ankle

There is no DSP or algorithm difference between the Whammy V and Ricochet, there shouldn't be any difference sonically between the two. The Bass Whammy has the same algorithm but we tweaked the detector to better process the longer waveforms of low frequencies.
