yes, i did tons of searches before i made my post, there's not much on the xp200, but it's true about my question being kind of dumb to someone who knows that more mA won't damage the pedal... i did not know that when i made my post ..and now it does sound stupid, knowing that more mA's won't cause any damage, but it was an honest question and i got an answer, be it in a rather harsh way.
&i've seen threads way more idiotic than this one too.
so now i know the ps913 will work fine ... but to be honest i got that information on another smaller forum where i know more people and more people know me, now i remember why huge forums like this one aren't always the most ..'noob'-friendly, but to those of you giving me advice in ..well..let's just say a 'polite' way, thanks.

Don't worry about the mA mistake. Now you know. FWIW, I've overheard employees at Guitar Center (popular chain music store in the US that often highers musicians with less than competent sales ability and less technical ability) discuss how one sales person supposedly blew up a pedal with a power supply that was rated too high. Needed to correct them on that (especially since the person in question was my favorite sales-woman who often got me good deals on used pedals). She didn't do anything wrong.
I was just debugging a Digitech RP300A today. I hooked up a variac, dialed it down to 9VAC and connected to the pedal and it worked. Looked worse than that open transformer pictured above. I used the same setup to test the Magic Stomp pedal I bought w/o a PS (needed 12VAC).
In the states, Jameco (Invalid Link Removed) is the best place to go to get AC adapters. I don't know anything about where to go in other countries.
The whole mod thing is kind of interesting. I looked into it when I picked up a XP400 Reverberator. Basically all the XP series pedals only differ in the EPROM used to boot the processor, the amount of RAM (and the color of the pedal).
The guy who sells them adds the ram and allows the rom to be selected. I'd love to see inside one of the modded ones (I have some ideas of my own on how to do it)
