Dingwall Owners Club

Love my Super P 4. And I string the Super PJ 5 E-C. I think the Super series scale is 35” to 32”. You get short scale punch on the treble strings.

There’s a number of guys stringing the longscales E-C. Or E-G for four strings. Or B-D. You can choose how you want to go.

And there’s a whole lot more going on than just the fanned frets. Every detail has been refined. It’s not just about having the best B string, but you can have that too. Fit and finish, balance, electronics are all top notch.

If I was to get another AB it would be a four string.

Hey everyone, since there was some talk of Straplocks. I’m a fan of using Dimarzio clip lock straps on lighter basses that don’t need a wide/padded strap. I was planning to put one on my ng2 this weekend. Anyone have any issues with them on the dingwalls? I’ve put those on several different basses from esp and musicman and never had any issues before. They provide two sets of screws in two sizes. (4 total) never needed anything besides a screw driver to install them.

Quite a few of those differences are customised out (apart from the semi-hollow). Mostly ash/alder and consequent weight then?
I haven't gone through the process of actually ordering out a Canadian Dingwall, so I'm not that familiar with how the details work out. From my understanding wood choices + the optional top are the difference between ABZ and AB1, and wood choices + semi-hollow are the difference between AB1 and AB2. I think ABZ is ash, AB1 is alder, and AB2 is walnut. Only AB1 and AB2 can have a top.
