gotcha. I like the look of both depending on the bass but I do find myself overall more happy on a maple board. I don’t get it, it just happens that way. Heh

By the way, how high is the action on your fretless? I have to run mine higher than I’d prefer to reduce buzzing.
On the 24th I’m at just over 2mm on the B. Just shy of 2mm on the C. 2ish on all strings in between.
it came with a lower set up but it did rattle around a bit for how I play and I lowered the pick ups a bit. I’m about 3mm from pick ups when depressing the 24th fret.

3mm on the C at the 24th fret and nearly 5mm on the B. I have some buzzing on the E and A strings which are higher still. The buzz is at the 3rd to 5th fret positions.

Neck is set flat or do you have any relief set?
Yep.
I’ve tried increasing the relief but it runs out of adjustment. I was advised recently by the Dingwall shop to set it flat and raise the action, so that’s what I’ve attempted. There’s still a tiny bit of relief.
If you're not getting a buzz in the 1st and 2nd fret areas, it sounds like you may have a humidity change issue and may need to take it into a luthier to re-level your fingerboard.
Have you set it flat and put a straight edge on the FB to see if it has any rocking. You should definitely be able to get lower action.
I’m surprised you can’t add front bow to the relief and get away from the buzz.
What does it look like when you look down the neck?
Not long after I received it there was significant buzzing which I understand was due to humidity change, so I got it linished and epoxied. Fine for a while but still needed the action to be raised as it started buzzing again. I’ve been keeping an eye on the humidity in the room it’s kept in; stays in the mid 50% range.
In the meantime I’ve also changed the strings from the F#-G rounds to TI flats B-C which obviously necessitated changing the setup, but with similar results re buzzing.
I was the one who insisted on fret lines against the manufacturer’s recommendations, so this is my fubar.
Using capos and the B string as a straight edge, there’s still a tiny amount of relief.
I’d say take it back to the tech who did that work. He should confirm and warrant his initial planing solved this IMO. First step would be to confirm the neck is true, flat and consistent. Lower action can definitely be achieve. I can take more measurements and/or photos if you like and if it helps. I don’t imagine it would help you but let me know.
NBD for me too. This is My first Dingwall. Just came a couple hours ago. Can’t put it down. Good thing it’s Friday and we have all weekend together.

I'm gonna try the regular Dingwall nickels again. I liked them but had a bad B string (factory installed) so I've been running Paysons for a bit. Probably should have just contacted them as their customer service seems to be great.
I have a pau ferro board combustion destined to become a fretless which is currently winging its way towards me. Very excited.
