I have heard late first quarter 2025 from both John of JFB and Jason at FretNation.I think early 2025
Yes - I had a SJ5 build about to be finalized depending on this - kinda super disappointed actually :/anyone hear that dingwall is no longer offering chrome hardware? want it for my sj 4 string build. kinda bummer

Indeed - and I’m not complaining - they gotta do what they gotta do, just bad timing.yeah jfb just told me. too bad, but black will he nice also.
wonder if it was fender lawyers doing, or economy of scale.Indeed - and I’m not complaining - they gotta do what they gotta do, just bad timing.

Nobody is sending cease and desists over chrome tuner finishes, they aren't even made by Dingwall.
They most likely just want to streamline production as much as possible to get through the queue, less options = faster turnaround.
Yes, understandable. One can always procure chrome hipshot tuners afterwards, but not producing chrome bridges is probably good time and effort savings.Nobody is sending cease and desists over chrome tuner finishes, they aren't even made by Dingwall.

What is everyone’s experience between using FDVs and a P-tone in the neck position of their bass?
I have the feeling the FDV - neck on my SJ has more top end extension than my Super P, even though according to Dingwall’s diagram the P-tone should have more treble.

Yeah. That’s interesting. To my ears my Super P has more present mids than the SJ, but I guess a lot of factors are in play there.Interesting. I must say the sharp V shape for the P-tone was not what I expected.
However - doesn't the P-tone refer specifically to the "humbucker soapbar" rather than to the split-P? Could explain the difference (but then they should add the split P to the graphs - and also for parallel wiring!).
It would be nice if they could tell us what actual frequencies these bands are referring to - I'm sure we all have our own interpretation...
oh wait what? not for p and j builds? blacknis fine, non clover on a j… ummmThis. They wouldn't even put clover tuners on my recent build.
My experience switching from FDVs to SF2s in my SJ was that those charts are not terribly accurate. The SF2s have a noticeably higher top end extension than the FDVs in my installation, which you would not get from the charts. The upper mids shown on the FDV chart feel right, but beyond that I’ve treated the charts with a degree of skepticism. What is everyone’s experience between using FDVs and a P-tone in the neck position of their bass?

Did you switch all three pickups for SFIIs?My experience switching from FDVs to SF2s in my SJ was that those charts are not terribly accurate.
