My philosophy is that I always want to produce the sound I'm aiming for with no compromises. For me, the only thing that delivers that are Dingwalls and me playing them. Picking up something "cheap" to have as a backup wouldn't really work for me, as I'd certainly be actually-unhappy playing, and that would come through in my playing. So if I needed "cheap", I'd pickup a used, beat up Combustion/NG
Again, I realize I'm in a minority and fairly privileged to have a Prima Artist as a main, Zs as "backups" or "co-main", and ABs as backup-backup. That isn't the case for everyone, and I acknowledge that. It's difficult for me to consider playing anything else, and so much so, that if I needed a cheap/beater backup, I'd probably go clear to a Squire or Sire in that case
