I think an important factor would be to set your failsafe to a programmable option and app control I think would be a crazy important feature for an actual visual reference.

I would be interested with the right features built into the interfacing.

Eventually Bluetooth foot switchable would be sic for some users. If you can BT an app surely you can BT a foot switch.

Depress button for 5 sec to search/engage BT or something.

Unfortunately you can't "program" the failsafe position. Failsafe is effectively "what the relays will do when de-energized". So they move to their NC (normally closed) posture, and whatever that ends up being in terms of signal routing is what you end up with. That's why with the current rotary, you end up in All 3 Parallel when failsafe happens. The only way to "reprogram" that is in hardware by changing what's connect to those NC nets. Which then throws off all the logic in the app, so you'd be in for quite a mess.

Remember, failsafe is supposed to be there for _unusual_ circumstances. The favorite and triple-tap are the human interface to get back to a known configuration you can work from. (I've had to wrap my head around it a bit, since default Position 1 is All 3 Parallel, matching failsafe _and_ Triple tap. But you can program position 1 to be whatever you want. I personally think of triple tap as a 2nd favorite right now. Single tap will be my most common used setting, and triple tap will be my 2nd most common used one).

That setting really is the GOAT as far as I'm concerned. I swear any time a Dingwall demo I have on goes there my ears perk up. Then I look and see "middle solo" text on the screen somewhere. 😅

Live, I've used it probably 95% of the time or more. I might add in the bridge pickup if I have my signal chain configured primarily for pick playing and want a little extra brightness for doing something with fingers.

A couple weeks back I traded off a beautiful boutique bass of another brand to Bryan at Leroux Music in Calgary(Awesome guy). He's building something Calgary I hope is ready for! I traded for a couple of production Dingwall's with the intent that they would be easier to part with vs the boutique.

They are both soooo killer... Point is to downsize and somehow Ive increased the headcount here...

Hopefully someday soon I'll get back on task and post these guys, but... well.

It was really hard to capture the colour shift on the NG (its 1 of 2 Six strings done in this finish) and it was hard to capture the sparkle in the PG too.

Photography: another skill/artistry id love to be proficient at...after learning how toplay bass of course!

I probably want sp5 just because this pickguard exists lol.
Do you know how many 5vers in that blue-purple-satin-shift finish?

Well here are my two Dingwalls, welcoming the ABII:

I'll take some better photos of the new ABII.

It's wild how completely different they are in almost every way, sound-wise, feel, everything.

ABZ 5 - Swamp ash body, wenge neck, FDV pickups, Glock preamp, matte finish

ABII - Walnut body, roasted ash neck, FD3 pickups, Darkglass preamp, fretless (macassar ebony fingerboard), gloss finish. I wanted a really aggressive sounding fretless, and while I need to take it to my guy for a setup (understandable) the feel is incredible.

The only thing they have in common is the hardware.

I generally don't like having a pickguard, but that one on the SP is pretty sweet looking.

If you haven't seen it on Dingwall Owners on FB I just bought this absolute masterpiece.

Photo Shoot was because my two closest people (partner and friend) said it looks like the ocean and the colour is called Stormy Sea Fade. So i have called it Stormy Z. Couldnt get the smile off my face. We drove 1600km to pick it up and it was a lovely trip.

I have owned a NG3 6 and an AB1 6 and the Z is definitely a different beast. Its just so much more sleek and refined than the other series. Neck is slimmer and faster feeling for sure. Body is also slimmer and more sculpted. I am not 100% on the Glock yet. I am used to the control and definition of the Darkglass pre on Dingwalls and I do miss that. The bass on the Glok is alot and i am having to roll off basically all bass which is wild to me. It has all the usual Dingwall articulation and definition but on steriods. The Quilt on this bass is probably one of the highest grade quilts i have ever seen. Seriously...It does not matter what light or angle this thing pops like mad. The colour is insane as well...it looks very different in different lighting but always very beautiful.

Anyway i am smitten. I bought it for some low tuning stuff but i am loving it so much i am struggling to limit its usage with low tuned strings just yet lol. These basses are very expensive but I must admit that I am starting to feel more comfortable with owning instruments at this level and gaining the maximum enjoyment out of the them. It is definitely going to be played a lot and very hard.
