Dingwall Owners Club

Side and face for me - not going for subtlety with this one

I'm guessing you're going with a dark fretboard? For the last five years or so between my old Big Al and the Spuper P I've been gigging with a maple board basses, but I did take the morado boarded Burgundy Mist Super J to a gig before I moved it on and I experienced some dificulty seeing the dots on it. My custom one that's coming is maple with black blocks, but if I had gone with the wenge necks, I would have definitely gone with the luminlays.

For some reason I had this song stuck in my head all day. Went home and had to play it to get it out. Figured since I have all my gear at home right now I would record a couple clips. Here is the catch, can you guess which is which? Sorry for my crap-tacular playing, but there is a dingwall in there somewhere.

Gear in my living room right now

Amps:
Peavey Classic 400
Peavey Mark VIII XP
Ampeg Portaflex 500
Carvin B1500
Aguilar Tonehammer in to a power amp
VHT Special 6

Cabs:
fEARful 1515/66/1
greenboy DuallyT
Chopshop 110

Basses:
Squire franken P with DiMarzio PAF (chrome flats)
Fender American Delux Jazz (rounds)
Musicman Stingray HS 5 (chrome flats)
Ball Family Reserve Sterling HS 5 (rounds)
Dingwall After Burner 1 (Steels)

So whatcha thing? Can you spot the Dingwall? Or the amps or cabs?

I found some headphones.
I would be shocked if number 4 wasn't the dingwall.

Contemplating side lumilays. What do you think would look better on wenge/wenge? I'm leaning towards blue.
I spec'd mine to be green. But here's the thing, they look like off white when in normal lighting (they look like normal pearloid dots), and when I'm in the dark, sometimes I think they look blueish and sometimes greenish. But it's dark and you can't really see the bass anyway, and they glow really brightly..

As far as color, I think you can pretty much flip a coin. I like mine a lot and I like that they don't look colored in normal lighting.

Okay thanks for the info

Blue 3 mm work great, I drilled out the existing dots and super glued in the luminlay. About an hour to remove the neck, install the luminlay, sand, put the neck back on. super easy.
You da man! I am a total clutz idiot when it comes to that sort of thing. I wouldn't undertake even the simplest project like that for fear of screwing something up. So Kudos to you!! I was happy to order them as part of my new build, but as much as I would love to have them on my other two Dingwalls, no way I'm taking matters into my own hands!
