The switch is the BluEQube. Its a passive mid scoop.

On earlier models it was a push/pull pot which is why you don't always see them.

Also, I don't think the BluEQube are on the current run, due to a change in the pickups.

My AB1 is a 2005 (early) and has the BluEQube as a switch. I don't know when the change was made before that, because that pre-dates the Dingwall message board (and the even earlier Dingwall Yahoo group message board) where a lot of this kind of information comes to light.

The move away from the BluEQube circuitry altogether has been only in the past year or two, once the FD-3M2 (either 2L or 4L) pickups were developed.

That colour is called honey amberburst. The way I remember it is the initials are the same as my wife's. :)

I'm using larger nickle wrapped strings on my ABII-5's .128T, .105T, .85T, .65T, .45. The higher strings have more punch and definitely more bass in the larger gauges.

My A string was getting fret buzz on the old .75T on the note bloom, with the .85T I can keep the action lower with way less fret buzz.

Well guys, here's the proof. I'm spending a lot of time with this Dingwall these days and enjoying every minute of it! I still find it hard to believe this is a passive instrument.

Clearly it's going to take me a while to get comfortable with my new camera, but this should do until a sunny day comes along.
