I would like to buy a Dingwall 5, if anyone has one at 8 lbs or less please let me know.
Maybe you have a Super J and you want a Super P, or vice versa. Maybe you have an ABZ and you want an AB II, maybe you have an AB II, well you get the picture....

I've tried the internet, TB classifieds, the shop to no avail. Most of my future is in the rearview mirror so up to a year wait is a no go. One was for sale in TB a while back, I PM'd and got no response, one was for sale here, it went within hours. Another for sale recently, again no response to PM request for info.

So I have been talking to a builder about a custom and I can get into one for around $2,500 with a 2 month delivery, that I could live with, but I would be settling. So hoping this isn't inappropriate and someone planning to sell will PM me.

Here's a Combustion. Don't know how much it weighs, and don't know if you are looking for Canadian builds only, but it is an option. And don't be fooled by the link data, as it is a natural ash version, not Ferrari red.

I called all over Canada looking for a Combustion. I found 2 at Wentworth Music in B.C. One is currently en route to me. The other is probably still available. Pretty good price. The one remaining's colour is 3 tone sunburst.
I'll post a pic of mine when I get it.

With the rotary dial and three pickups are you able to run series mode? If so, what pickups...neck and bridge?

Sorry, but another quick question....what's the difference between the older FD-3 4L pickups (like in that blue ABZ) and the newer ones? Just the housing?

Thanks so much, keep them coming. I'd better mention, I have a soft cap of $3,000. Sadly, I can't even look right now as I have to finish housework (I'm a retired, empty-nest Mr Mom (2 Yorkies at home though )), then it's off to practice, but I look forward to researching when I get home later (loooong practice tonight which is why I'm looking to go light).

It would be... but you know those series tones are nothing to scoff at.

Depending, I may just end up with the middle and bridge wired in series with each other, and use the stock switch. HS style with humbuckeresk in the bridge.

Now THAT would be easier to do -- just not as flexible as the scheme you're looking for.

Hoping to end up with

Neck + Middle
Middle
Neck + Middle + Bridge
Middle + Bridge

If I have the option for a Neck + Bridge, and a Neck solo, then I would spring for that too.

OK -- so for simplicity, let's label the conductors as follows...
Neck pickup: + is A, - is B
Middle PU: + is C, - is D
Bridge PU: + is E, - is F

So your switch positions would need to make the following connections:
(in these cases, + and - now refer to the input and ground on your Darkglass pre)

Neck: A to +, B to -
Neck & Middle: A to +, B to C, D to -
Neck & Bridge: A to +, B to E, F to -
Middle: C to +, D to -
All 3: A to +, B to C, D to E, F to -
Middle & Bridge: C to +, D to E, F to -

You'd need to find a pretty legit 6-position switch...and also consider what would be the most intuitive arrangement of those options -- otherwise mid-gig confusion may ensue!

The FD3 is wired parallel only, while the FD4L gives you the option of series (MachII pu).
