I wouldn't know what to play if it wasn't a Dingwall. I'd likely go back to just 4 strings. Don't know about brand though.



Kiesel (Carvin) has a few models
Brice/ Agile but they're so cheap
Little Guitar Works - if I were ponying up new-custom-Dingwall kind of money, I'd look long and hard at a Little with a fanned, Torzal twist neck

The kiesel looks half decent. Heck both the Brice and the Kiesel look more tempting them one of those big 3 brands.
The little looks very curious. I would also like to give the twist a try.

I've been curious about the multi scale Torzal as well, though I've bought other used Dingwall instead of making the jump.

I recorded with the D Bird last weekend. Very happy with all the tracks. If anyone is interested in how it sounds in the band context, here is a very rough scratch track. This is direct to the board with no post process work. Again, very rough scratch and dry. I know it's not the easiest line to discern so please use some headphones.

This is the bridge/middle in parallel...tone rolled back just a touch. I really like how tight the lows are and how juicy the midrange is. That setting also takes highs so well IMO. See what you think.

I just met Sheldon at the Vancouver Long and McQuade and I agree he's a great guy to talk to. I told him all about the style (s) of music I play, the sounds I like the options etc. and he "custom designed" a Z3 for me on the spot. Now that's customer service!!

Has anyone done a pickup swap on an older AB1 or AB2 with the Bart sizes pickups?
Just wondering if the newer ones would fit.

Alternatively could anyone who has the new rounded end pickups provide the measurements?
