For a 5 string?

I don't believe they will fit but nordstrand may make something that would.

Yeah there is a 5 string AB2 for sale here for a good price but I'd want to upgrade the pickups as I prefer the newer ones (I've had both).
Don't mind doing some routing and from a very unscientific comparison by overlaying some pictures and lining up the string spacing it looks like it might be possible. The AB2 body is oil finished so no poly to worry about.

If it can't be done without ruining the body I'll just go for an NG2.

Gotcha.

On
My Sj5 they are a hair shy of 1 1/4" wide x 5 1/4" end to end. That would be minus the rounded edge on the corners.

Blurry fan shot of the D Bird in its natural environment. Man, that bass has some great gig tones. The series setting, which interestingly enough I don't use much at home, is great on the gig. Just tons of smooth, fat and juicy low end.

By the way, I'm loving the SP5 with the FDV bridge pickup. Every switch position is great. I love that instead of adjusting something on my pedalboard, I can just switch to the bridge, or series and get a whole new sound out of my little pedal arrangement.

The P on it's own is still the sound for a lot of stuff, but throw the two in parallel and it's slap heaven; also great for pick stuff, but the series setting has great fatness but also a nice grind in the high end that the pickups in my ABZ don't really have in the series setting. The bridge pickup is barky, growly funk city.

For the Super series owners out there: Which strings are you guys using? :)
Dingwall nickels now, but I had a set of Dunlop nickel Super Brights on it prior. Had to order a six string set because they don't do the same gauges that I wanted in a five string set (for B tuning mind you), but those were really great. They weren't that much brighter than other nickels new, but even when they were clearly dead they were somehow bright.

TI flats also worked really well, but I missed the zing of rounds.
