I bet Sterling would chew him a new one if he so much as asked for a license.
Yeah, and I don't think anyone whose been saying they'd buy one or that they want one has seen the price list for a Canadian made Dingwall lately....

To their credit though, I'm sure Sheldon would build an incredibly badass MM style bass that would destroy anything from EB in the tone, feel, weight, and quality department.

Very nice! The Dingbird looks great too.

I bet whoever is running EB right now would sue the living hell out of Sheldon and crew for that.

With that headstock, and all the other differences but the headstock is the main thing, there's no basis for a suit. Doesn't mean they couldn't launch a frivolous suit to waste Dingwall's time and money, but given many Stingray copies already exist and in California you can countersue and win big for frivolous suits then that's a double-edged sword. At worst maybe they'd have to drop the "Ray" part of the name, but I doubt even that. If anything, maybe EB should license it the Dingbird, not the other way around.

Yes, I know it's not real and yes I've read all about Mr. Ball's temperament.
