Discussing singers here..

i would like to know what u think about these 4singers, they blew my mind when i heard them for the first times..

Roger Daltrey, The who <= Very cool - Rock solid - even though he doesn't live in the stratosphere, he can scream with the best of 'em - but he has an attitude and a delivery that goes from really soft and subtle, to in-your-face and radical. Also, like many brit rockers, Roger has a sense of humor (or humour) that I LOVE in artists and musicians and it shows in songs like, "Pictures of Lilly" - and as for the "rock anthem" - the Who practically invented that and no one delivers the goods like Mr. Daltrey. Roger Daltrey is a GREAT SINGER!

John Fogerty, Creedence clearwater revival <= His unique, natural "distortion", phrasing, delivery - all incredible! I think that because CCR's music has a folky, down home feel around it that he can be overlooked for his killer voice, but I think that he has an amazing and very unique voice! I wish I could do what he does!

Klaus Meine, Scorpions <= Heh... Yeah.. He has range and power - but doesn't do it for me. The Scorpions and Judas Priest occupied the air wave at the same time and with Rob Halford out there, Klaus never rose up in comparison for me.

Robbie Williams, solo <= No opinion - not familiar with his work.

This thread sucks, I like too many singers !!!!

I listed some metal singers, but not soul singers... or classic rock singers, or RIP singers or blah blah...

too many good singers... I guess my last two I would put up other than the metal guys I listed earlier are two of my favorites...

Otis Redding
Brad Delp

love them.

i don't really listen to singers, but there are some whose subtlety i really enjoy:

karen carpenter (the greatest singer ever, IMO)
peter tosh
laetitia sadier
andrea echeverri
neko case
curtis mayfield
gustavo cerati
andy lovegrove

meh. i like a singer who knows when and what not to sing.
