Hmmm gotta chew on that comment a bit....interesting comment but not sure I agree provided that the builder and the customer work together on it. If the builder takes a custom order for a bass to his/her customer's specs then crafts it then the builder's "voice" is in his workmanship but I know what you're saying Roger.

A good case in point might be that custom Dolan that popped up on eBay a few weeks ago with every pickup known to man in it.

Thanx Adrian. Means alot coming from you. I applaud your accomplishments as well. From what I see from your site you really help alot of "US" BP's get not only a great instrument but the RIGHT one. Please keep it up. Your my 1st stop next time im in Vegas.

The '57 is also well put together and I love it... very light as well. The Metro... well, it's just in another class. The craftsmanship is incredible. The finish is amazing. The playability is ridiculous. The only thing that bothers me about it are the fret ends are sharp. They are seated well and level, but they extend over the edges of the fingerboard, which really surprized me(I bought it sight unseen). The sound... more beautiful than every angel in heaven playing their harps in unison.
I will say, however, that my Stingray is about as well constructed as my Metro, and the fret work is flawless. I know it's an easy fix, but I thought i'd point out the only flaw in an almost perfect bass.

I recently visited the Sad shop and the two Metro's I played had the same fret issue. The NYC's did not. I guess there is a difference between the Metro and the NYC regardless of what we're told.

I spent some quality time with a couple of Metros the other day. One was a 5 string with soaps- great great tone and feel. The other was a 4 string that was a turd. No feel no tone. The pre didn't strike me as particulary responsive in either but the 5 definitely had it going on.`
