DIY Looper Help

I'm almost complete with my DIY true bypass looper pedal, but I can't seem to get it to work. Looper off, LED off, clean signal, works just fine. Looper on, LED on, no signal. Basically it's acting like a mute instead of a looper. I'm sure the switch is oriented properly or I don't think it would work at all.

Here's the diagram I followed (I only did one loop):

And here's what mine looks like:

Am I missing a connection some where?

It looks like the return and output jacks are not grounded, and the power to the LED is reversed.

+1, the grounding is all wrong, all the grounding points on the jacks (the sleeves) should all be conencted together. What it looks like uve done is connected the sleeve of the send to the tip of the return.

You've got correct diagram posted. Look at the grey wire, thats the ground that connects to the sleeve of the jack.

The only difference with the power, is that I placed the resistor between the battery and the LED instead of between the switch and the LED. It made more sense to do it that way.

First step clearly is to take that turquoise line that runs from the send sleeve, and connect it to the return sleeve instead of the return tip. I think your LED power arrangement makes sense now that I think about it, but even so I would have been inclined to follow the "known good" diagram as written, and troubleshot/modified only if it didn't work.

Ok. Craggsy and Bongo were right, the wire (light green/turqoise one) going from the SEND sleeve should have been going to the RETURN sleeve, not the RETURN tip. It works now.

Still I don't consider one incorrect ground "all wrong". But hey, that's just my opinion.
