DNA Owners Group

Happy New Year DNA club. We need some more pics and updates! I had a great NYE gig at one of our local spots last night and the 1350/210 rig sounded great.

Had my 1350 and 4-10 on stage last night. Let 2 other bassists use it. First one used a 1981 Vantage 4 string bass. It was a little buzzy because of the dual split coil Dimarizzio pickups, but wow what a huge tone coming from that Matsumoku bass. The second bassist plays a Warwick Corvette 5'er. A bit thin on sound, but he dialed it in a bit on his bass and bam. Tone and power for miles. Huge tone and man I was glad to hear my amp played by a couple of really good players. Then I got on stage. Plugged in my Modulus Q5 and just melted the stage. My tone cuts through both drummers and all 3 guitarists so smoothly and like a freshly sharpened knife. Every note. From low C to the High G on the 24th Fret.. Wow.. I love this pair

Hey guys, I'm starting to look at changing my rig. I currently use a MarkBass Jeff Berlin combo with an added Aguilar GS 112 which has a pretty good sound. I'm interested in the DNA products, especially the 1350 into the 410. My question is, how does this rig handle bar gigs? I don't have any issues with my current setup but was curious if the 1350/410 sounded good at lower volumes or do you have to start cranking it for it to come to life? I'm open to a 210 cab but I've never had a 410 and would like to try that out.

Any help you can provide is certainly appreciated. Time frame for me is about 6 months. I've got a lot of shopping to do and there are a tone of Class D heads hitting the street right now so it will take me a minute to sift through it all.

Bottom line is I want very good sounding quality gear and don't mind paying a premium if the sound/quality is there and in this case, it sounds like it is.

You'd be doing fine any way you slice it with the 1350 and 410 cab. They sound great at any volume but both amp and cab will just make your smile bigger the more you push them!

I'll check them out. From reading your posts in this thread, realistically, a 210 is probably all I would ever need.
I barely push it. We all have either QSC K10's or K12's for monitors and all the guys like a good chunk of bass in their wedges. I get enough of the articulation from the DNA cab to please my tonal tastes but I get plenty of extra from the monitors. This cab can handle a good amount of volume before it starts to beg for mercy. Keep us posted on what you decide!

I have the 1350/410 combo. Been using it for a couple months now. Amazing. Any bass I throw at it, it handles with amazing response. Fantastic low end. My Modulus loves that low C in particular through this combo. It rumbles and sounds great! Every bassist that I let use my combo is amazed as to the response of the cabinet.

I let another bassist from our opening band use my rig. He was blown away by it. Not to mention all the compliments the rest of the band had for it as well
You know, it sounds a bit cliche but I just set my EQ flat with just a little boost of the shape knob and this rig just sings. I run the tweeter on the cab at the -2db setting and tonal balance is outstanding. Just a good mix of round low end, full and punchy mids and sweet highs. I'm not much of a slapper but with a few EQ changes this cab can go super hifi as well as get old school too. Just need to add the 410 to the mix next!! :bassist:
