Here's my most recent gig rig pic! I love the DNA 2x10 cab, but still want to try some different amps. Anyone used a WT-800 with their DNAs?

I used my WT800C bridged into a DNS410 (8 OHM) cab. What a combo. It was a wrecking ball of bass.

***snipped out the pic***

I use a hot-rodded WT500 with my DNS410. Unlike "normal" WT500's this one was David's test bench amp he used when designing speakers. So, he upgraded it to 400 watts per channel and 800 watts bridged into 8 ohms. I run it bridged into my DNS410. The only real difference between my WT500 and one of the earlier WT800's (WT800A) is the lack of the bi-amp circuitry, which I have no interest in using anyway. So performance of my hot-rodded WT500 with the DNS cabs would be the same as that of an older WT800, which is to say SPECTACULAR! The new David stuff is great, but the old David stuff is the next best thing!

The 410 has a sensitivity SPL of 106db at 1 watt/1 meter (2.83V/1M), so it's an extremely efficient cabinet. I typically run my master between 9:15 and 9:45 o'clock most of the time. I'm no where near the maximum watts it can handle and it is loud and clear. And, my amp just gets a little warm, not hot. I imagine I would turn the master up more for an outdoor venue.

I didn't get that impression, but I just jumped into the DNA world about 2 months ago. I can not tell enough people how much I really love the amp and now that I have the 410... OMG.. WOW is it an amazingly super power. Since my band runs 115dB for Acoustic "Quiet" shows and about 120+ for electric shows, I always have to have a ton of power. I have to be able to push through 2 full trap drummers and 3 guitarists with Fender Twins each!!
I am looking at getting the 1350, can I ask do you still like this head, any thing you can elabotate on? I am really interested in your take on the compressor, if you go max, on the compressor, doee it really squarsh the signal? I like the squarshed tone, for certain effect,

To be perfectly honest with you, I don't use the compressor. I want my tone LOUD and out there. I squash nothing. Also, not really sure why I would use a compressor with a 4x10 DNA cabinet. As for the amp.. This is one killer tone amp!! Perfect for me. Super Super clean. Clear. LOUD.. Oh, did I mention it was loud!!! Plenty of headroom for me. I jumped from an 850w amp to the 1350w. You would think it would be way to much, but I can slip into our 6 piece band and my 5 piece band and blend perfectly!! Now, my bass is a tone monster and is extremely hot, which helps on that power thing as well. But, I am so glad I made the change from my SWR to the DNA. Just an absolutely fine amp..

Thank you for the reply BTW, I use a compressor for an effect, on certain songs, does the head have a good range of tone, despite no parametric, I play a KS, which has alot of mids, I need at times, a good scoop. How does the SHAPE control work in general, "good range"?

My SWR had a big mid scoop. However, with the DNA, my EQ is virtually set at 0! I boost a bit of the bass/mid/treble depending on the room with the EQ on my bass. Other than that, the amp is flat. Again, my Modulus electronics are particullarly hot. I don't know if that makes much difference. I will be using my 92 Q5 in a couple of weeks and I will find if there is any sort of difference. My 94 Q5 had the electronics changed and it is just super hot. Really is a great tone monster with the DNA and the DNS 410

@Hand slap.....I'm not much of a compression guy either but I have fooled around with it. You can definitely get a good 'squash' on the sound if you want.

As far as EQ, I feel the center points are in good spots. I also feel the shape knob is definitely very usable further through its range than the old Eden enhance. It's a great amp and I haven't even thought about anything else in the past year since buying mine.

Hope this helps.

From what I have seen with the shape knob, it works on near off for me. My 1960's finger style of playing. Slap kind of playing, the shape goes up and gives that tonal "touch". I am not by any means good at slap, but that's what I hear when I change the shape knob.
