Do chicks really dig us bassplayers?

one time after a gig i was talking to this girl and she asks me, "what instrument do you play? because bass only has four strings." (i play fretless 6 string) and instead of arguing i just said, "guitar". she like most people didnt even know the difference. didnt matter to me...

Then again, there was that hot blonde that came up onstage to dance with me during the last song of our most recent gig... but she was drunk and I didn't get the digits, or the chance to, uh, "dig" into her. So, no.

well, i went to see Nerf Herder one time on the punkorama tour and they had a new bassist named ben for this tour. parry (lead singer/ guitarist) is married and dave (guitar) was working merch. where steve the cougar (sexy drummer that typically gets all of the chicks) was, i dont know, but ben was funny on stage and had the most presence and sang backup vocals perfectly. after the show i was hanging with him on the NerfBus (rented uhaul with beds and a microwave and sink) when parry knocks on the door with this HoooOOOot chick and goes, "Ben you have a visitor. You guys are gonna have to leave." my friend and i got to get autographs and met Nerf Herder, but the bassist got the chick! i guess it only works when the rest of the band isnt trying and the bass player is kick-ass.

chicks hit on me all the time. I think it's because I'm the only one in the band who doesn't sing so I have that little bit of mystery. Also i'm 18 and the youngest member in the band. I love the women who know your playing bass. Women will walk up to me and say "you play guitar so well " And I just want to say "you stupid slut, I don't use a ****ing pick. Get with it." But I just say thank you and go home alone....usually.

Depends on the girl...

I know a bunch liked me when I played sax more often. Haven't had anyone dig me yet for bass but I have a girlfriend so I don't really care. Plus I haven't played bass that much out in public...who knows?

I think if girls like the music they will like the bandmembers regardless of what they are playing. It's quite stupid however you look at it though.

I told a coworker of mine that I played and right after that she invited me to parties and things like that...pretty unusual for myself
