Do Fretless Exist without a Burst Finish?

OP is fine. I thought original title was funny. Funnier is those that had their panties bunch. Skin thins with age, though

Original title made me think OP was looking for a fretless with pickups close to the bridge, like a Thumb bass.

Otherwise, I was going to suggest a high pass filter to tame the boom. Then I opened the thread and laughed, especially at those so easily provoked. Oh well. Off we go
The funniest thing I’ve read in this entire thread was the implication that boomers have thinner skin than millennials or zoomers… That would be hilarious if anyone actually believed it to be true.

Old Boomers with their cancel culture, safe spaces, etc. Pffft! So glad I’m a tough guy riding the cusp of Gen X and Millennial with my thick (faux)leathery vegan friendly skin!

Only if they are gluten-free, vegan friendly, ethically harvested synthetic bean sprout Tacos! My ittle wittle millennial guts just can’t take real meat.

The Gen-x part of me welcomes the mayo in the name of Talkbass memery though. The grosser the better!

So crunchy is bueno?

Some TBers have conniptions just thinking about crunchy.......

How about something like this (sorry about the clear finish over the spruce ;)).

If I wanted to put on my pedant hat, I'd harumph that the MM plays on the aesthetic of 60s Japanese and Italian guitars, and the Explorer-like thing is derived from Gibson's 1950s Moderna-series Explorer, revived in middle-age for hair-metal. And the Rogue looks like a knock-off of an 80s Spector...

in that light, they're all kinda Boomer-y

However, zero sunburst...

Terrifying Two-sided fretless bass-slash-8-string fretless guitar chimera, from breveR.

Yes, the "back" is a guitar. If I had a microtonal art-noise project, this would be crucial....

Rogue has the sub$200 non-sunburst fretless segment locked. Black, white, and blue, too:

I guess you don’t get out much. Because both fretless and left handed basses aren’t in as much demand, your local store or what you see advertised locally may have a more limited selection, but both come in all kinds of colors, finishes, etc…
