Do girls usually play short scale basses?

I should /end thread and say she picked out a MIM Jazz bass
used, Vintage white.
She really wanted an Aerodyne JB, but this one seemed to
play the closest. Really good action and I know they can be
hit or miss, like with strats. I'm trying to convince her a good
amp will make her sound a lot better. She's playing through
my former Behringer BX 1800 right now.
Yes the chicken's head bobs up and down when you play.
I'll just tell her to get her own user account now. I'm counting on you to get her going
'cause I need a bass player.

I've had a few short scales. I like 'em. 6' 1" and 235lbs.

Carol Kaye (recording artist on many famous Motown songs), in her instructional video(s) indicate the long-scale basses are not a problem if you shift/pivot on the thumb. If you use your thumb as an anchor, you should be able to shift your hand so you can reach 5 frets; 4 does not allow reaching all the chromatic notes, and 3 is even worse.
An EB-0 (short scale) helped me transition from guitar to bass. I played it for a few months before moving to full scale. I found it to be valuable for that reason.
When my 11-year old son started playing, I picked him out a short scale Gretsch for learning. He has pretty small hands, and the overall scale looked just right for him. He had no problem handling it. No that he is much more comfortable with the bass and playing scales, he says he is ready to move up to a larger scale, I have a modded (improved electronics) Fury ready for him to start on.
