An OLP with new pickups and electronics would probably stray into the used SUB price range; I know I'd rather have one of those. In the case of the Sub 5 strings they even look better than the StingRays (I hate the SR pickguards). The MusicMan SUB basses show up in the classifieds here from time to time.
