Do you believe in ghosts?

True to my wife's dream my aunt passed today. We were there when it happened. I was talking to her when I noticed my wife look oddly over to the door and then immediately at my aunt. She died a few seconds after this. My wife told me that she'd glanced over at the door and seen my (deceased 2 years ago) dad standing there. He then seemed to move quickly out of the doorway. When she looked over at my aunt, she'd passed away.

Sorry for your loss, and I hope what I am about to say doesn't sound disrespectful.

She was 80 and had pneumonia. With respect, I've never even met your aunt, but even a godless heathen like me could hazard a guess that she wasn't going to last long.

I need a ruling. Is it okay to refute his/his wife's claim or are we compelled to keep quiet out of respect for his loss? This is a toughie even for me.

I am sorry for your loss as well, Bach.

Yes it is. She seems prone to these types of episodes, unconsciously fabricated or not. I noticed a definite shift in her attention when she glanced over at the door just before my aunt died. As I mentioned in my original post, IMO some people have the ability to see whatever it is that's out there, others, like myself, not. In her case, it seems to run in the family (I know, nature vs. nurture), but with both her and her "kids" (30s) they're disinclined to fabrications. In the children's case, both are rational, logical, and not as prone to a "ghost culture" being born and raised in Canada.

My household is half Filipino too. We hear the ladies scaring the kids about the 'mumu' and 'aswang' too.
It's ok cause it keeps em in their bedroom so I can watch shows like True Detective.

Born and raised in Canada.

There you go. Case closed.

Well, yeah. We do have ghosts. They'll apologize if they startle you and will disappear if you tell them to "take off!"

Now now. The Canadian government has apologized for Bryan Adams on several occasions.
......speaking of ghosts. Guess apologies for Celine Dion and Nickleback are forthcoming.

Not exactly Fillipinio family fare. Great series though! Was happy to see it just didn't run on indefinitely. Thought the final episode was a real sphincter clencher.
