I've eaten it on more than one occasion, usually in the form of a Tur-Duc-Hen (a stuffed chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey), and I find it to be quite good.

Duck, when prepared properly, is divine. Right up there with fresh raw salmon and prime rib.

I have only had duck a few times. The first time, my Mom fixed a rubber duck for Thanksgiving. It was so chewy none of us could eat it.

I had some awesome crispy duck at a Chinese restaurant once. Yum!

About 4 years ago, I fixed a duck for Christmas. Turned out much better than my Mom's rubber duck, and she admitted it too. That is the only time I have been able to cook something better than my Mom.

Christmas before last, we had one of those frozen Tur-duc-hens. I am sure it was not as good as one made by a Cajun chef, it was pretty good.

A few times a year yes. I once had a 5 course banquet at a Chinese restaraunt where every course from entree through to dessert had duck in it. It was quite delicious, albeit probably too fattening

Anyone have a Duck as a pet ?

Sort of...it's a seasonal pet. The same duck comes back every spring and nests in the ivy in my back yard. This is the second one that's done this, the first one got whacked by a hawk. When the eggs hatch she takes the ducklings into my pool and then a day later she walks them down to the river and they're gone. Pretty cool except for the duck crap in my pool.

If I'm in a restaurant and there's duck on the menu I order it. I've been eating duck since I was a kid. Good duck is great, bad duck is...really bad.

Exactly. Duck meat is awesome when it's cooked right, and not as good otherwise. That said, the best duck I've ever had was at a Lucky 32 in Raleigh, NC, and the worst was at a hole in the wall Chinese place here in Bluefield (but in all honesty, I don't think it was how the meat was prepared as much as the overall dish being not exactly what I expected).

I bit into a duck's a$$ once when I was a kid and it was the worst gamey fatty taste I've ever experienced. For some Chinese dishes, whether it's chicken or duck, the whole fowl is cooked, chopped, and then every piece placed on the dish. My aunt should've left it off the dish.
