A lot of Angelenos will tell you not to miss In-N-Out but for my money, there is no L.A. fast food joint more classic than Tommy's...where movie stars, crack heads, cops, gangbangers, and businessmen coexist!

I used to hit the one on Hollywood Boulevard at 2 or 3 am. Good times!
I also loved Ben Frankin's, the one that was an old train car. I didn't see it there when I was in Hollyweird last time though. I also notice the Coconut Teazer & Tower Records are long gone.

i used to live by the tommy's on hollywood at the freeway - great fries 24/7 :) ben franks wasn't the one in the train car - ben franks was a coffee shop on the strip. we used to go there after the saturday night rocky horror picture show.

ah, how i miss the coconut teaszer (my favorite club!) and tower, although i DON'T miss the tower parking lot!

Wow, it's been a long time, that train car diner is called Carney's & closes at 10pm, so I must have actually been at Ben Frank's late at night.

good catch - i just couldn't remember what it was called. my son is a big carney's fan.

here's ben frank's before it was turned into mel's and after

we used to sit in the back room, my friends would be horrible and disruptive, and i'd tip the server lots to make up for it. it was a weekly tradition :D

i saw every kind of band at the teaszer from folk and roots rock to really hard metal, and just about everything in between. did you ever go downstairs at the teaszer to the crooked bar, a room with a slanted floor and slanted walls where they had acoustic acts? i saw a band there once that sounded really great, surprising perhaps since their drummer was using a suitcase as his kick :D

Taco Bell, that's it. If I was on the West Coast, In-n-Out Burger I'd do, but that's it.

Fast food, as it has become, really is awful. And it's nothing close to cheap. For what it costs now, I can take my family for a pizza. Spend a few more buck and we could get Chinese.

McDonald's, Burger King......is that stuff even meat anymore? I can't tell. 30 years ago, maybe it was OK, or maybe I was just wasted. One way or another it's not the same.

I'll add that I'll eat at Chipotle once in a while. And by that I mean, I have eaten there three times, in my whole life.

As for me, I eat all the fastfood joints in my area, and some know me by name and how I order,ya see I am slender(all my life),me and teenage grandkids live together,no wife(good for G.A.S FOR ME!) health is good-no meds,Give me the biggest,of you got & love me some grease in my food! I want calories-1000s 0f them and sugar too,I also get my homecook meals when I want.Am I bragging/bashing? IDTS.Just saying about ME because I have sons&daughters that can't eat like me,they try hard to watch their diets low sodium, diet drinks, counting calories, lowfat this and nofat that.I do feel for my kids but they know IT'S IN THE GENES.My dr says keep doing what I'm doing. He just don't know. I want fat&seasoning In all my fastfoods.Sorry If I offended anyone as I was not raised that way.

No way. All rubbish.
Had a chap with me, nice bloke, enjoyed his company. He was a manager at a local KFC.
Home-care in peoples own homes. Had to stop this guy from sneezing over some blokes breakfast, coughing into someones lunch.
Told him to blow his nose because his snot was running into some dudes dinner.
Fast food= will never eat that shyte again.
Indian, Chinese: If they can cook right, will be going there again.

Sad but true. There was a Wendy's we would occasionally go in, and there was a guy I dubbed "Wendy's Dude" who seems to be a fixture in the joint year after year. Last time we went, I noticed his 1/4" long grubby fingernails, his Wendy's crew hat that had a layer of dust, flour or what ever on it, his hair was greasy and his clothes were dirty and I said, no way anymore. Shame, too really nice friendly service oriented guy.

I seldom eat fast food, but my downfall is a small Reese's Blizzard a time or two a month. Today I had to go inside because the drive thru was closed. There was a girl hacking and choking all over her hands, but she wasn't the one who served me so I got over it. I would have said forget it otherwise.
Don't get me going about buffet spoon handles.
I'm fine with eating fast food at home, two burritos for 1$ from Dollar General I'll nuke 'em at home.

Yes, I do. Almost every day, for lunch, on my way to work. Is it bad for me? Yeah, probably; but so were the hazardous chemicals (some of which you can't even get any more) and the radiation I worked with/around for most of my life. So, I feel lucky to have lived this long. Do I care? At my age; no, not a whole lot...:)

Maybe once a week I'll pop in to In-N-Out but that's about it. I've pretty much given up on fast food these days. Not that I actually eat any healthier than anyone else, but I do prefer to cook at home these days. Arby's used to be a weekly stop as well, but the last time I was there I got sick to my stomach, so no more.

Amy's Kitchen, which makes organic vegetarian frozen foods, recently opened a restaurant with a drive thru in town (Rohnert Park), which is right down the street from IN-N-Out. I wouldn't call it fast, I hear that it takes forever to get through the drive thru, but I find it interesting that there's a healthy alternative to the other fast food joints around town, and there are a lot of them in town (2 burger kings, 2 McDonalds, 2 Taco Bells, Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr, Arby's, In-N-Out).

I mainly eat at Chic-Fil-A cuz I totally support hate. The more hate the better. In fact I only buy meat sourced from Hatey Haterton, the local hater farmer. After all, that's what the thread is about, right?
:rollno:

You people just can't help yourselves, can you?
I applaud you. I was thinking it but you said it.

I can't say that I don't eat fast food, but it's a very rare thing for me to consume. The only time I really have it is one road trips. Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Chick-Fil-A for me.

top three for me as well. but I also enjoy arby's
