I used to hung them on the wall of our home studio when they fit on the wall. Now I got a couple more so they wouldn't fit. That's why I've put them in their cases and stored them, leaving a practice bass only in the studio.
I don’t have a link but they are called puck lights and usually come in a 6 pack with a remote. They are made under various names but they all look the same. You’ll need to look for color changing ones because they do make white light only versions.
Here’s our main floor living room. No tv, just a record player and some “decor”.

A friend had a 69 strat that he was playing one day, hung it up on the wall hangar not realizing it wasn’t in all the way, took 2 steps and soon enjoyed seeing a deep body gash + chunk taken out as it crashed to the hardwood floor.
If Im so short of square feet i can’t spare the space for a solid floor stand so that if my bass fell it wouldn’t free fall several feet I might want to declutter my life a bit.
I remember an episode of Laverne and Shirley where one of them was afraid of flying. The other correctly responded that more ppl get killed in cars than planes, to which the retort was, “Yeah, but no one ever fell 30,000 feet from a Hudson.”
It goes on a floor stand or the case, period. I guess Im not as adventurous as some; call it a fear of heights.

I think the big advantage of using a rail system like some of us have is the modularity. We can add, remove, and reposition on the fly. And these rails aren't coming down unless the wall comes down. They're attached to the wall with some sort of glue, and then drilled into the wall at regular stud intervals.
For perusal during your quest, I use Cherry slats from here. Guitar Hanger MX™ | Multiple Guitar Hanging System by diamondLife
I do not know if they are a good deal or a rip off, but they look nice in my home.
I use the Hercules GSP39SB hangers because they have smooth action, and that can get annoying.

Absolutely not. I'm not into hanging instruments.
I do not believe it is good for the bass especially with non-symmetrical shaped heastock it puts the load mainly on one point.
I've bought so many used basses that had chips in the finish or bad discoloration from where the hanger touches. It ends up driving me nuts.
Also basses left out in the open kill strings sooner with dust and temp flucutions. The reason my roundwound strings stay crisp and last a year is because I dont leave them out.

Basses that I can easily grab get played more, and, these are high enough the kiddos can't touch them. Hangers are a little above 8 feet of the ground.
Never. I suppose there are some valid reasons to do this other than just showing off, but my basses are too valuable to be hanging up on the wall. Mine are kept in their case, stored on end off of the floor and never left out on a stand. The less than a minute it takes to get one out somehow does not seem to adversely effect even my most pressing muse attack.
