I did have a stage name when my originals band formed a cover band with the same line up. we all had different names so to not saturate the scene with our ugly mugs.

I got stuck with the stage name Scooter (Hence my user name here). I was around 17 and hanging with the guys in our band partaking in alcohol and herb while watching the Muppet Show. One of the guitar players remarked how I looked like Scooter on that show and it stuck. Here I am on the verge of 55 and people still call me that in musical circles. Could be worse I guess.

Years ago I was known as Dog Face Boy, from the Motorhead song....
The funny thing is, I got the nickname because I was the only 'normal' looking dude in this band. I had a career, so I had short hair, neat appearance, etc. The rest of these guys looked like Captain Jack Sparrow's crew, long hair, crazy beards, etc. So I was the 'freak' of the band, in a perverse sense.

See, my first name is JC. One of my friends, a long time ago, was stoned trying to sound out my name. He ended up with juice. I picked the spelling. Another buddy added the nuggets, and it kinda just stuck.

Not me, but my drummer recently earned the name "P#÷÷× McGee" after he couldn't hold a steady tempo all last set after doing 1, yes count em folks, 1 fireball shot with the audience last month. So far the name has stuck.

Some people do it. With others it sometimes just happens. I agree with you and think it's kinda cheezy actually.

I shall start. Although my name is Matt, i am called "Homeless Dave". I got the name during the SD State FFA convention, when a person whom i had never met before called me Homeless Dave because i had my ffa jacket in a bag (wasn't required to wear it in ag mechanics and the clothes i was wearing made me look homeless.
