Could you post some photos that are a bit murkier with less information?

It certainly does look like a double-bass. So, I'd say it's a genuine double-bass. Is it supposed to be something else? For example, if it's being sold as a "1957 Chevy convertible with rare fuel injection and all numbers matching", then yeah, I'd think it's a fake. If it's being sold as "Double bass" then I'd say it's genuine.

He means close-ups taken under bright lighting: scroll. neck heel, top and back, label. We have some very experienced people here who would be happy to help you, but they have to have some info to work from. @turf3 is just being @turf3 with his reply, but he's right. Barry Kolstein nor Ken Smith could id your bass based on these photos.

It's definitely not an old bass, the inside is too clean and pale looking. And I've certainly seen similar figured maple and finishing style on recent Chinese instruments. One of the pictures says "Beijing" on the banner behind it - if the bass is in China, being made in China does seem the most likely guess.

Inside tag 1999year If it was made in China in 1999, it wouldn't be of this quality

Yes, and I'd vouch to go one step further, I'd say it's a genuine Chinese bass!
From what I gather, the wood seems reasonably good and it may well be a decent bass.
But, as others have hinted, stated; better, bigger more detailed photos would be a great help.
How about the wood quality? Inside 1999year tag If it was made in China in 1999, it wouldn't be of this quality
