No, I used to want to name them, but it always felt contrived and never stuck. Now I hear my guitar playing friend who names his say, I brought so-and-so today, and I think it just sounds dumb. It has to be pretty darn original for it to sound good to me.

What's the old saying... if you love something let it go... if it comes back to you, odds are good it'll be really pissed and take your bass collection in a divorce settlement...

Sorry.. that seems unrelated... but if I named my basses my wife might figure out my favorites... and when she got wise about it... she might demand the favorites in any possible future settlement.
 
My Stingray 5 is called Stingray. My Conkin Groove Tools Rocco Prestia model has a really original name, "The Rocco Bass" or "My Rocco Bass" if I'm feeling more possessive. Then there is my yet to be named and new to me Modulus BassStar which is still un-named, it's getting awkward between us.
