Grandpa is a metalocalypse reference. There was an episode where they referred to acoustic guitars as “grandpas” guitars.
Seems like, especially if you have more than one say, Fender P-bass, you'd consider naming them to keep them straight.
Or is that just weird?
And if you do name them, I'd love to hear what names you've given them.

I did the same thing. My Epiphone Dot is named 'Dorothy' because Dot is usually short for Dorothy. And she is one of two red instruments I own. So the other, my Spector NS2a, is 'Ruby'. My daughter says the Spector's last name is 'Slippers'.
