Totally depends on the topic for me.
This for me as well. It depends on (1) the topic of the OP, and (2) who posted the reply. If it's a topic I'm highly interested in, and after reading part of the reply and finding it well thought out and relevant, I'll read the whole thing.
 
Depends on the topic and the commenter.

But brevity is the soul of wit. Even if I'm into the topic and like the commenter, I will hard-pass on comments with dense text and long long long paragraphs. I'll suffer through bad spelling, bad grammar, and unfortunately chosen words before I try to read a paragraph that goes on and on for a dozen lines or more. I just can't.

A lot of the time a long post will got off on a tangent vaguely relayed to the OP so I kind of glance over the long posts to see if they are relevant before I read them.


If the discussion is on lightweight amps, I don't need to hear about the fold out couch/bed at your aunt Minerva's house that had a bar support that dug into your back when you were 12.
