I love slap bass, and I think I am not too bad at it.
I guess you dudes know what's slap bass.
lol @ this thread
Like Tina Turner on her honeymoon.
Sure, why not? Usually only when the moment calls for it though. It's like spicin' up your favorite food. A little is good, maybe more is better, but too much is......well, too much.
How about fillin' in yer profile so we can see what u got?
Yes, it's a technique among other things that I enjoy.
Also, to threadstarter, why not fill out your profile and make people more familiar with yourself around here.
Having said "yes" to the poll, I'm not much cop at it.
Yes but I'm an "old school" slapper. Can't do the Wooten thing.
Nothing wrong with a bit of slap now and then.. when its needed
I'm old school I like some slap, but think many over do it. I dig Marcus Miller he goes between finger and slap as necessary for the section of a song. Still feels like a bass part.
I don't like the clicky-clacky constant slap I hear some guys do. To me it doesn't feel iike bass, more like a precussion part.
In Russia, you don't slap your bass, it slaps you!
this is sort of a dumb question...who DOESNT slap?
ive been trying to resist saying this but oh wel... here goes...
"You want i should slap you?"
yes/ sounds great, but I suck
When I play funk, which is all the time.
Slap fits in certain music, and doesn't in others. Gotta find a nice medium.....
I try. Not too good, though.
one day i shall slap but for now i do not
Don't want to. Don't need to. Don't ever intend to.
Don't pop either.... unless it's corn.
I slap, but I wish I were better (more percussive I guess) with ghost notes. Pfft...
lol! oh boy...
anyway, i slap. i prefer the old school style, though, a la louis johnson, larry graham and, dare i say, marcus miller.
I can slap...badly.
I can Thump not as badly as I can slap.
