My daughter dabbles a bit. I introduced her to guitar, bass, keys, and drums when she was a kid but she's never been all that interested.
She's now 30 and is married with 2 kids. Her husband plays bass and is pretty decent. Their 9 year old daughter has zero interest in playing music. Their 3 year old daughter loves banging on my drum kit and electronic keyboard. She does that for 20 - 30 minutes at a time while singing songs she makes up.
I think she might make a great musician someday.

Nope. But my daughter plays drums. I have someone to jam with.
I no longer have a son but my nephew showed interest some years ago and I put together a precision clone for him. He played with friends for a few years but that has since faded. I asked him a year ago if he would sell it to me but he said he would never sell it, so there may still be hope.

Nope. Neither of them care about music at all. They've come to my shows and couldn't have been more unimpressed.
Nope. My son plays trumpet and is a very accomplished DJ and audio/track creator. Very respectful of my bass playing and band accomplishments. He's also a 1st Class Petty Officer in the US Navy!

Sorry old-ish thread but so proud of this kid…started him at 9 on a Mikro. Now he rocks a Sterling short scale in jazz band and plays upright in orchestra.
Nope. Daughter sang and still plays violin. She did get pulled on stage by Peelander Z and handed a bass once. That was pretty funny.
My son photographs rappers and makes enough through that side hustle I don’t ever need to send him money. And he’s a D1 athlete so I admit I like his tuition bill ($0) more than I’d like him to play bass. He throws a ukulele about once in a while.

My son is 8 months old and just learning to crawl. He likes to sit around, check his surroundings and then go for the thing that attracts his attention the most. Usually a guitar or bass.

My oldest is 6. So far he seems to have an affinity for singing, lyrics and dancing. He prefers my acoustic guitar of all my stringed instruments, and pretty into the keyboard. He’s been asking for a “real live drum set.”

My nephew. He’s been playing since he was around 5. And he is legit. I bring a bass or guitar when we visit. His neighbor is a Nashville producer and is constantly dragging him to events to sit in with pros. Granted he’s in 4th grade now but he is as good as some guys I’ve played with. Love this guy and I can’t fire him because we’re not in a band together. He works at it every day but the timing is natural.

However, I put the skids of his "borrowing" of any of my equipment. LOL. Seemed to think I would forget such things. Naw, it's not that bad. I just don't like to lend things out.
