DOD 250 style pedal that does not lose low end?

Not for nothing Line6 call it "the secret weapon" on their helix.

Also, the Kowloon Walled Bunny has a ton of low end. It’s based on a very special broken Distortion +.

The options for bass dirt that DON'T either cut low end or create a perceived loss of low end are so limited that if that's the only reason you buy a particular pedal, I'd say it's unlikely to be the best pedal for you. Better to just get the 250 or whatever sounds rad to you, and then get a full size TC Spark to put after it. The bass knob on the Spark is perfectly voiced and makes the whole issue moot, and you're free to buy any dirt you want.

Sure. I like to add it back with a pedal though because then if you switch back to clean you don't have to run to the amp to turn down the low end. Also I think there's something about adding low end back in before the amp that makes it feel more incorporated into the final sound.

Use something like a Boss LS2 or other dry-blend pedal to add just a touch of dry signal back to carry the low end. Makes any OD bass friendly.

Reading back through this thread, I’m still using the DOD Boneshaker as my main distortion. It’s not a straight 250. But you can’t beat the price and flexibility.

The mosky preamp is a praise worthy pedal with no loss of low end

The in my opinion slight low end reduction from the 250 is what helps you cut through live. I have gotten more comments about my bass sound being heard and the quality of the sound since I started using a 250 with just a little hair on the signal.

Holy Island Audio makes a 250-style preamp pedal, the Angel Teeth. Its not exactly the same circuit from what I understand, but it sounds amazing on bass.
